We’re delighted to announced our online shop is now open for the holiday period! We’ve launched it to offer a specially curated range of gift sets and hampers – featuring wonderful wines, spirits and fine foodstuffs – so you can enjoy a taste of El Gato Negro and Canto at home.

Since opening we’ve worked with Master of Wine Miles Corish to source a unique selection of wines from independent producers to partner with our dishes. Now we’re giving you the chance to savour some of these exclusive wines – from El Gato Negro and Canto’s wine lists – at home, along with some of our favourite other drinks. There are ten boxed options to choose from, including red wine, white wine, cava, port, sherry and gins.

Of course, a good wine needs a good companion… which is why we’re also offering a select range of superb signature Spanish foods to complete the experience, including cured meats, cheeses, accompaniments, olives, and sweets. Recreate your own tapas feast at home, or gift that experience to someone important to do the same.

Canto’s Head Chef Carlos Gomes has created a hamper based on his very own personal paella recipe, with all the ingredients you need to try your hand at making the iconic favourite. You’ll even get a paella pan for two, and Carlos’ own step-by-step instructions.

At present we’re offering local collection from our Manchester King Street and Canto (Ancoats) restaurants, as well as courier delivery. Order before 6pm on a weekday and your order will be ready for collection after midday next day. Our team will contact you to arrange a suitable time slot.

Chef Patron & Creative Director of El Gato Negro, Simon Shaw, says: “We’ve talked of introducing El Gato Negro hampers from the day we first opened the doors here in Manchester but to be frank, always managed to find a bigger priority. If you’re to focus on the positives of this year, that’s one of them, being challenged to think, adapt and do things differently. As we temporarily close the doors to El Gato Negro and Canto once again, there’s no better time for us to make them a reality.

“The drinks Miles has selected really are some of the best… what he doesn’t know about wine really isn’t worth knowing. Whilst we can’t unfortunately serve them at our bar right now, I’m happy we’re able to make them available for guests to enjoy at home. There’s some great wines included.”
