The wait’s almost over, and the cat’s now out of the bag! After many months working on our beautiful new three storey home, we’re delighted to announce our official opening date. Highlight Monday 22nd February 2016 in your diaries so you can experience El Gato Negro’s new restaurant in the heart of the city centre.
“We’ve taken care to make this a venue that will appeal to those looking to drop by for half an hour over a selection of tapas and a glass of wine or sherry, as much as it will for those taking time to enjoy a bigger occasion. We’re very much looking forward to opening our doors.” Simon Shaw
So what can you expect? When you step in from King Street onto the ground floor you’ll see our casual dining space, focused on the charcuterie counter and bar – the perfect spot for matching a superb range of drinks with carefully-curated selection of small dishes. The restaurant’s first floor is perfectly suited for longer dining experiences, centred around the open plan kitchen where you’ll be able to watch chefs preparing your dishes on our charcoal Josper grill. The seasonally-focused menu features old favourites and new dishes, including a new chargrilled section, all with an excellent array of expertly matched Spanish wines and sherries.
Meanwhile the top floor cocktail bar will enable visitors to enjoy an exclusive selection of Spanish-influenced cocktails and a comprehensive array of drinks. You’ll be able to soak up the atmosphere, and even take advantage of the retractable roof we’ve installed to make the most of sunny days and starry nights in the centre of Manchester.
